You’ve told us that you want action. We’ve heard you.
We are going to narrow our focus to key areas where we can really make a difference in the community.
The Hedland Collective’s vision was always ambitious. In 2017 we identified three priority areas:
- Strengthening local employment, training and business development opportunities.
- Coordinating social services to foster the safety and wellbeing of the community.
- Building and communicating community vibrancy and culture.
But this broad focus meant the way forward wasn’t always clear, and the work that we have done was not always seen by the community. We have taken on board feedback from our conversations with people in the community and are using it to help us plan our next steps.
Our vision hasn’t changed. We’re still all about building our community and bringing people together.
We want to focus on immediate actions in specific areas, starting with improved access to childcare for local families and the provision of school-based traineeships at Hedland Senior High School.
We’re also committed to keeping you up to date on what we are doing through our social media sites and webpage, which are set to get a lot busier!
